Greetings Brothers and Sisters of Local #3 California,
I hope this message finds each of you safe, healthy and standing proud of the work you do every day as members of The Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Union we know that it’s not just about the job, it’s about the people standing beside us, the communities we build and the legacy we leave for those coming up behind us.
As we approach Memorial Day and head into the summer season, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible work being done on the job sites in Central and Northern California. Your skill, commitment and brotherhood/ sisterhood continue to set the standard for excellence in our trade.
A few important updates to keep in mind.
Upcoming job calls:
It is very important to put your name on the out of work list, if you find yourself laid off.
There are some nice size projects coming up in our Local area:
UC Merced new Medical Center, Northfork Casino in Madera, Fresno Air Terminal,
Terry Bradley Education Complex, Sequia National Park, Modesto Courthouse, Kaiser Fresno, Merced Jail, just to name a few.
Safety reminders:
With the warmer months ahead, be mindful of heat safety protocols hydrate, take your breaks and look out for your brothers and sisters on the jobsite.
Union meetings:
Participate, your voice matters, union strong means union involved.
Work goes on at the Capwell Building in Oakland. It is a good feeling to have our own building again. It was great seeing everyone that came to the General Meeting on May 3, 2025. Our first General Meeting at the New Capwell Building.
