Age 65, of Sonoma, died August 24, 2009 in Sonoma. He was born August 5, 1944 in Petaluma. He graduated from Petaluma High School Class of 1962. He was a gifted athlete (football, basketball and baseball). He continued his love of sports playing with the Guanella Brothers Fast Pitch Softball Team. He was an avid 49er and Giants fan, a Brick Layer for 32 years, and a member of the BAC Union Local #3, of San Leandro. He was a member of the N.S. G.W. Sonoma Parlor #111 for 43 years. Bill was the adored father of Cindy L. Phillips, Robin K Johnson-Hutt and Judi Darlene Johnson; loving grandfather of Michael Phillips, Damon, Dion and Alexis Hutt, David and Melissa Cunha-Johnson and great-grandfather of Deegan Michael. Bill was the dear companion and best friend of Andi Carcos. He was the dear brother of Roy "Sonny" Johnson of Petaluma and Margaret Choffel of Arkansas.
