The BAC 3 CA Election Committee has submitted their report of the 12-19-09 Election. The Committee certified the count and the results of the BAC 3 CA Officer Election:

Local 3 would like to thank the Election Committee for their hard work and dedication; Chairman Tom Unsell, Larry Stokes, Tyler Simpson, and Dennis Cookson.
As everyone knows, work is still very slow. It is definitely the worst job market I have seen in my 33 years in the local. As I stated last month, the entire local 3 staff and membership share the frustration of fewer jobs and the decline of work hours throughout 2009. We look forward to the economy continuing to improve and an improving job market in 2010. Your Field Representatives are working hard to cover our large jurisdiction. Field Reps may not be visiting job sites as often as you may like to see them, but their many other duties and responsibilities’ of securing any work that is being performed is taking up the majority of their time and effort. The Sacramento Central Labor Council and the AFL-CIO, in cooperation with EDD, ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions, and United Way have put together a booklet titled “When the Paycheck Stops”. This booklet may assist you in surviving hard times on the best possible terms. The materials provided are generalized, and programs may vary from county to county. You may use the listed public support bureaus and service providers to fit your needs. If you are interested, these booklets are available at the San Leandro and Sacramento offices.
The 11th Annual BAC 3 Crab Feed will be held on January 30, 2010 in Vallejo. The Annual Crab Feed is the only fund raiser for the Sullivan-Kraw Scholarship Fund. The proceeds from this event directly impact the number and amount of scholarships awarded to families of BAC 3 members.
